Exposing your skin to chemicals is not only hazardous but unnecessary. Many people in the construction business found that their livers were damaged when they handled lumber that had been treated. Of course, the wood was not consumed, the workers only touched it. This prolonged and repeated action of touching the lumber that was coated with arsenic played havoc with their bodies. Your body's largest organ is your skin. Knowing this we have to ask ourselves this question - "Are we really safe when we repeatedly use chemical based skin care products?"

Did you know that eye makeup has mercury added to it at the rate of up to 65 parts per million? Mercury in canned fish is heavily scrutinised, but no one seems at all concerned about the threat posed by mercury in eye make-up. This deadly metal is easily absorbed through the skin and can accumulate in one's body.

You should avoid bronopol if possible. This is an ingredient found in mascara. When this ingredient was tested on lab animals, it caused blindness and eventually resulted in death. It will take a very high concentration of bronopol to be affected by side effects such as these, but what about the woman who uses the same brand of mascara for decades?

One chemical that is found in many different lotions and hair care products is formaldehyde. Ingredients such as imidazolidinyl urea and DMDM hydantoin are known to irritate the respiratory system, can lead to skin reactions, asthma, allergies and have even been known to trigger heart palpitations.

Exposure to formaldehyde can have various side effects such as headaches, immune dysfunction, chest pain, dizziness and even cancer. Be on your guard against trade names that include formid, aminoform and uritone. You should also be concerned about others, but this is a beginning.

Something else that is absorbed through the skin is coal tar derivatives. Ingredients such as 1-Naphthol and 2-Naphthol are named in this group. If these ingredients were to be taken orally, only 2 teaspoonfuls would be fatal!

Ingredients such as Vitamins C and E are usually added to makeup in order to block the toxic effects that nitrosamines have. These come in the forms of monethanolamine (MEA), lauryl sarcosine, laureth sulphate and cocoyl sarcosine. Before you go out and purchase makeup that promotes the addition of Vitamins C and E, please carefully read the rest of the ingredients. The job that these vitamins have may not be to provide something extra; instead they may be blocking the effects of carcinogenic substances that these makeups contain.

Often makeup contains ingredients that act as oil emulsifiers, moisture retainers and solvents. These same ingredients also go into antifreeze and brake fluid. Propylene glycol is one of them. Because of its toxicity the EPA requires workers to wear skin protection when working with this product and Safety Data Sheets warn that absorption through the skin can cause abnormalities in the liver, brain and kidney. Despite this it remains an ingredient in makeup and some stick deodorants.

Skin care products, cosmetics and lotions are regularly applied. Before you purchase a product, be sure you read the ingredients on the label. The parts per million of certain toxic ingredients may be very small, but if you use a product over a period of years, there will be a slow and steady build-up in your body. Mysterious illnesses can often be traced back to things that the patient thought had no consequences. One option for you would be to go organic. It would definitely be the kindest thing to do for your skin. Be sure that you start monitoring what you put on your skin before you apply it.

Knowledge is one of the most favorite weapons in the war against acne; knowing the main causes of acne, makes it easier to decide how to combat it. During the teen years are when hormone levels increase along with androgen in both males and females. Over 85% of teens have to cope with this annoying problem.

The largest increases occur on the back and upper chest and unfortunately on the face. This happened because the sebaceous glands are now actively producing sebum. We actually need sebum, because this natural oil is found in hair follicles. If the excess oil is washed off using soap and water, or alcohol it doesn't present a problem. But, still the excess oil may cause blackheads.

The problem gets increasingly worse when the pores close, because they have become trapped from the excess sebum. Then whiteheads can form from increasing pressure and may burst. Now the bacteria are on the outside, on your face, for instance and it gets spread around. The bacteria create pus and inflammation, which causes acne.

Have you ever had the thought come to mind, that stress can affect your acne? That would be great to know since we can't eliminate the stress completely. Here's the verdict, stress weakens the immune system which would make it harder to defend against the bacteria causing acne. By itself, it's not a major factor though.

Another question that I have been asked is how much influence do illegal drugs have on acne. First, if you are taking illegal drugs, you just need to stop! If you don't you are going to have worse problems than acne. But, let's see what the dermatologist had to say. I was told that anabolic steroids can be a major contributor toward acne, as well as barbiturates and tetracycline.

People have often inquired about the role genetics plays in the acne field. The results I found from researching say there hasn't been any infallible studies to confirm it. In contrast, documentation shows that acne can be passed along in the family tree. But, that's partly due to family living.

This is a question I get pretty often. Do I have to watch what I eat? Will it make a difference? You may think that if you eat greasy food, your skin would be greasy. Actually, some foods that should be avoided like soft drinks, chocolate, and greasy cheeseburgers, will not have any impact on your skin. But, if you are eating a food that increases production of sebum (oil) or a certain type of hormone, it will have a large effect on your skin.

If you can remember that hormones cause the sebaceous glands to secrete too much sebum (oil). The hormones are more active because you are going through puberty. All the acne products work on the principle of controlling the sebum and keeping the pores unclogged. It's important to control the production of the sebum (oil), because if the sebum gets mixed with bacteria deep in the pores of the skin that is clogged, the result is acne.

Adult acne has been an age-old problem and combating it has led to an eternal struggle between the face and the medicated products used to effect a cure. People are willing to try almost anything for most of the over-the-counter acne medication provide little help. But before treating your acne, it is necessary to know what things you should never do while you having it.

Picking, Popping or Squeezing

Popping your adult acne does not make things better, however it often makes things worse. Do not think that squeezing them will help them heal more quickly especially the swollen, red goobers filled with stuff! But scrunching these guys only pushes the inflamed gunk deeper and wider into the skin often results in scars and it will cause the adult acne treatments become more difficult.

Pre-tanning at a Salon

Pre-tanning is never a good idea, whether it is from the sun or a tanning bed, but it is especially true if you are using adult acne medications. As sebaceous glands are influenced by, among other things, heat and humidity, lying out in the sun or in a tanning booth may actually cause more acne breakouts. Not only that, it also may increased the risk for severe sunburn, skin damage, premature aging, and skin cancer.

Smoking

The study indicates that among adults with acne, smokers were more likely to suffer from inflammatory adult acne. A team studied 1000 women of 25-50 age groups and found that 42% of women, who smoke, suffer from acne, while only one out of ten non smokers was having skin disorders. It also was noticed that the smokers who suffered acne in their teens, has chances of suffering four times more acne in their adult than non-smokers who also had experienced acne in their teenage.

Taking Too Much Vitamin A

You may have heard that vitamin A helps to cure adult acne. What you may not know is that if you take too much of it, vitamin A can accumulate in your liver to dangerous levels and cause serious health problems. There are safer derivatives of vitamin A to treat your acne - topical retinoids and oral Accutane - that your health care provider can prescribe.

Use of Cosmetics

Sometimes, we may feel hesitated to cover up all our acnes because on one hand although it will give the impression of clearer, fine skin, the other hand may result in more adult acne. However, if possible, don't use any cosmetics or lotions at all. Make sure that you completely remove all of the makeup and wash your face well before going to sleep.

A good acne skin care routine is essential to preventing and controlling acne. However some people have the time-to-time breakouts that seem hard to explain. The best way to minimize acne breakouts is to take care of your body.

You're now a teenager. Finally get to drive. If you're not a teenager, I'm sure you can relate. But, along with that comes the period in your life where you have to deal with acne. So, what is it? When your pores in your skin get clogged and bacteria forms inside them, it results in acne. You may be already noticing the red bumps and the white pimples of your skin.

Our skin is a vital part of our body, because it keeps out bacteria and other germs that could make us sick. But sometimes bacteria grow within the pores of our skin, and mixes with the sebum which comes from the sebaceous glands. We need this oil so our skin will remain soft and not dry.

Normally, our skin cells will grow and die and are eliminated through bathing. At the same time, oil or sebum dribbles out the side and is distributed around the area, and our hair grows through the surface. Unfortunately, sometimes the process doesn't work properly, and the bacteria get trapped inside the pore, the result is acne.

Sometimes, that acne will appear as a white bump with redness that contains dead skin, white blood cells, and bacteria. The pimple can also contain "pus", and will form a pustule. Postule is derived from the word 'pus.' A postule develops when the follicle wall in the cell breaks, and the white cells rush in as a healing process.

Acne can also develop as black heads, they're referred to as black because of the color. Their black color is also associated with dirt. In contrast, the chemical reaction between the sebum and dead skin cells and the oxygen in the air is what turns them black.

The various forms that we have mentioned are referred to by the medical term called 'comedones.' The only difference that determines what type of comedone is whether the formation is open or closed.

As acne progresses it can develop into a papule, nodule, or cyst. If your acne formed when the walls of the hair follicle burst close to the surface, then you have a papule. They're small and don't contain pus. If there is a break at the base of the follicle, and there is a hardened lump under the skin, that would be a nodule. If you have a larger, red bump, you have a cyst. Although, a cyst is soft, it can be very painful.

You're probably not looking for a biology lesson, but are looking around on the net for 'What is Acne.'The time that you spent here will be worth it, because now you know a little more about acne. That gives you an advantage, if your knowledgeable, then you won't spend your money on things products or procedures that don't work.

Acne is something neither of my parents told me about, yet they both went through their teens, with acne problems of their own. I truly wished, they both would have had a talk with me before I became the scourge of the universe.

To tell the truth, they did talk to me about my little condition. But what they told me didn't give me much hope for my outbreaks. I had to try to find my own solution to the problem, since my parents never discovered it for themselves. Sad, don't you think?

Acne is a condition that hits most teens at some point. This is Mother Nature's way of saying, "You are hormonally changing into an adult". Our hormones begin to affect the oils that secrete from our sweat glands. It is oily and loaded with bacteria, that our bodies find; less than inviting.

Our skin pores on our faces, shoulders, backs, and necks get clogged up with this bacteria and dead skin cells. This will cause pimples, as a reaction to the hormonal change. This is what is referred to as acne.

Here are a few tips to help you.

1. Don't believe everything you hear about acne products

You will go to the drugstore to get some acne treatments. You can't help yourself, because the drugstore is right down the street.

A lot of what the over the counter prescriptions for acne medications are a lot of crap. Some will work and others will not. Look at the active ingredients, first. There are some awesome products that will work, but you will have to know what you are looking at first. Check out the "caution" labelling on the products. If they indicate that the material can cause skin irritation; then let this go for now. Some of the cleansing pads really do work!

2. Don't pop or scrub the zits.

Popping zits is one of the worst things you can do, and must stop now. It will only spread more bacteria to your already infected pores. Scrubbing your face raw is also something that has to stop. This irritates the infected area, and can spread the infection even further.

When your pimples are ready to pop, they will. The urge to pop these zits can be overwhelming, They itch and hurt. Let them pop on their own accord. This way, you are not impacting the pore and causing it to be more swollen and infected later.

3. Lifestyle change

What ever you put into your body will come out of it. If you eat already processed food, such as a bag of potato chips, your body, the organic food processor, doesn't have to work very hard to digest the food.

Your body is trying to eliminate the oily hormonal mess that is going on. If you eat healthier you will help your body on the way. You will see the results in less acne.

4. Try the miracle cures, before seeing a dermatologist.

A dermatologist is usually the last resort to fighting the acne battle, on your own. Today, there are a few miracle cures for curing acne quick, that you have been seeing on the TV commercials. By all means, try a few of them. Nothing lost, nothing gained. If some of these work, then God Bless you! If not, it's time to visit a dermatologist.

Every one of these products has a big problem - it doesn't really treat the root of the acne problem. Instead, these products try to deal with your acne one blemish at a time.

That's a pretty silly proposition. There's no point in attacking pimples once they're already there, especially if you're not doing anything to treat the issues that caused them.

This isn't a long term solution, and it makes lots of people quite frustrated. Many people decide their acne can't be cured and just give up.

Acne can be solved - you just to make sure you treat the underlying causes!

How do you do this?

You'll need to have a complete treatment system that addresses all the acne causes. Here are the main causes of most people's acne.

1) Bacteria that create breakouts
2) Skin inflammation
3) Too much oil on the skin, which is caused by overly active glands
4) Clogged pores in the skin

These are the big enemies when it comes to the battle versus acne. To win, you'll need to make sure you treat all of them.

This seems pretty simple, and it's certainly not rocket science. Some of the companies producing acne products are deliberately creating less effective products, so you'll keep buying more.

Thankfully, there are proven treatment systems that have been designed to touch on everyone of the above causes. By doing so, they are able to deliver results in a matter of days and get rid of acne on a permanent basis.

When looking for a treatment, make sure it attacks the problem from all angles. For the most part, these treatments will involve a couple of steps (there might be two or three products that form the treatment). This is the only way to get long lasting results.

If you've used acne products before and found that they don't work, don't despair. There are proven, effective treatments out there, if you're willing to look outside your drugstore. The right treatment could be your ticket to clear skin. Read more...

Trying to get rid of acne NATURALLY indicates the fact that you are aware of the reasons that cause this problem with your skin. It's a well known fact that the kidneys, the skin and the colon system in your body all work hand in hand in the elimination of removing harmful toxins in your body.

The remains of the toxins that don't get eliminated start damaging organs in your body. This causes the skin pores to get overloaded opening up the entrance to allow the bacteria to do their messy work in your skin.

Under the circumstances, acne is a form of skin infection with zits representing the outburst. The first step to take in order to get rid of acne naturally is to cleanse the body as a whole.

Acne is usually connected with a very popular problem: constipation. If this is the case, detoxification is an important step in the process of teating acne naturally. There are several indicators as to whether you need a detox or not. It's quite simple to find out. Symptoms like infrequent bowel movements, gaining weight all of a sudden, feeling stressed out and irritated, zits popping out all the time, dull skin are all screaming out that the toxins are still out there!

A basic way to start the process is by drinking plenty of water, adjusting the diet to a vegetarian pattern and doing lots of physical exercises. In addition, you can try special detoxification products created from natural compounds that stimulate the metabolic increase.

Essential oils, herbs and minerals are usually great remedies for treating acne naturally. There are popular cosmetics out there that claim to carry these herbs and mineral extracts. Usually these products end up being a total waste of money since they lack the concentration level of herbs needed to treat severe acne conditions.

Since the required elements for the treatment are not enough to help treat acne, you are better off using the herbs on its own. Another alternative would be to actually look for supplements that carry high concentration of the required elements.

A herbalist or a naturopath should be able to set you a treatment to get rid of acne naturally by aiming at the cleansing of the skin pores and the balancing of the diet and life style. Read more...

Adult Acne and Pregnancy

Được đăng bởi Nguyen | 11:06 AM

Adult acne in pregnancy is very common. In fact, some women may experience acne for the first time when they become pregnant, even if they never had acne during their teens. When existing acne virtually disappears during pregnancy, it often recurs afterward.

Adult acne tends to be worse during the first trimester of pregnancy. Pregnancy is a time of tremendous hormonal upheaval where progesterone is more androgenic than estrogen. More secretions of your skin glands will be produce and cause more acne breakouts.

After the first three months, acne usually clears up and return to its natural, pre-pregnancy state. If you consider taking acne treatment during pregnancy, you need to minimize any potentially harmful acne treatment that might affect your baby. However, there are some adult acne treatments that are safely to use to treat acne.

Plan Before You Get Pregnant

If you are planning to get pregnant, discuss your acne treatments with your dermatologist or health care provider. Acne treatments like tetracycline antibiotics, oral isotretinoin and topical retinoids, which are safety to use when you are not pregnant, may harm the unborn baby. One of the ways to treat adult acne during pregnancy is with a topical acne-fighting preparation.

Your dermatologist may prescribe Erythromycin as acne treatment during pregnancy. Most of the topical prescription products contain this antibiotic. Although many skin bacteria are now resistant to it, it is probably better to avoid all medications if possible.

During Pregnancy

Drying acne treatments like benzoyl peroxide cream may not be suitable as your skin is dry out more than normal during pregnancy. Natural product such as tea tree oil is safe to use on spots and blemishes. It will be good if you use the clay masks like kaolin and bentonite clay to absorb the oils and blocked pores on your face, especially if you have blackheads and oily skin.

There are some oral medicines that can be dangerous if taken during pregnancy. There are a few you can take or substitute with a topical application, but if you are not aware of the differences, you may have abnormalities. We highly recommend taking acne treatment that using natural ingredients to treat acne pregnancy.

No matter you experience adult acne before, you might can get it during pregnancy. Until now, no body can stop it from developing during pregnancy. However, you should not worry as by applying the proper acne treatment, your skin can probably clear up and return to its natural with time.

How To Treat Acne

Được đăng bởi Nguyen | 10:32 PM

There are oral medications available that kill acne-causing bacteria. Oral medications like tetracycline, minocycline and doxycycline are antibiotics that those with acne prone skin can take. In addition, there are topical antibiotics or bactericides such as benzoyl peroxide or erythromycin. However, acne is bacteria that can become resistant to antibiotics. The bacteria appears to not develop any resistance to benzoyl peroxide, however.

One of the treatments which can assist in minimizing acne is exfoliation of the skin. One method you can use to exfoliate is by using a soft cloth or perhaps a liquid scrub. To peel the top layer of the skin products which contain the ingredients like glycolic acid and salicyclic acid will assist the process and prevent any dead skin build up.

Salicyclic acid which is known to assist in acne treatment can be found in a number of over-the-counter remedies. This works by softening the skin before removing the dead skin cells. There are a number of facial washes available which contain Salicyclic Acid. Some products containing Sulfur are accepted by some people as having the ability to reduce their acne problems. Another ingredient - Glycolic Acid is found in a number of acne medications and also in some anti-aging products.

With respect to natural acne remedies one which is gaining in popularity is Tea Tree Oil.This has been found to reduce redness and inflammation in the affected areas as well as killing the bacteria causing the problem. It is generally accepted that Tea Tree Oil is just as effective as Benzoyl Peroxide without having any skin irritation. Most general health food stores will have Tea Tree Oil on the shelf.

If hormonal imbalance is the cause of your acne it has been found that acupuncture can assist in restoring the balance. Once the balance is restored this will , in most cases , result in your skin becoming free of acne.

If you have used acupuncture to assist in treating your acne condition you will definitely find that lifestyle changes such as changing to a less oily diet and one which also contains less dairy products will enhance your acupuncture treatment.

There is a great number of people who believe that the bacteria which causes acne is sensitive to light's blue wavelength and as a consequence they use the natural remedy of light therapy. This involves shining blue light on to the affected area of skin for approximately 15 minutes twice a week over an extended period of 4 weeks. One of the drawbacks is the cost which can be around $150 per session.A lot of users have reported good results but it must be said that this treatment is not 100% effective. A major advantage is that there are no side effects as blue light does not harm the skin.

Acne remains a skin problem that the medical community is still trying to find the perfect cure. There are numerous acne treatments and methods available, but they are not guaranteed to work for everyone.

What is the Best Acne Cream?

Được đăng bởi Nguyen | 11:47 AM

An acne cream can do a lot of things for your complexion. It can treat skin disorders with various medicinal ingredients, and it can help heal scars after a bad outbreak. An acne cream remedy can be used with oral or surgical methods as well for a well rounded approach.

Prescription acne creams could contain an ingredient known as benzoyl peroxide. This oxygenates your pores, ridding them of the bacteria that causes acne and allowing the pores to reduce in size. The weakest strength is 2.5%, available over the counter; prescription versions can bump up to 10%, or even 20%.

An alternative to the benzoyl peroxide route is tea tree oil. This natural ingredient can also be formulated into an acne cream, and offers similar results without causing so much drying of the skin. Many prescription drugs have natural counterparts that work just as well.

When surgery is chosen as the option to get rid of acne, treatment cream may be needed afterwards. If the sebaceous glands have been lasered, medication may be needed to cut down on pain and swelling. Fresh acne bacteria will also need to be fended off, to cut down on the chances of re-infection.

Acne vulgaris is a bacteria that causes many cases of acne, and prescription acne creams with antibiotics may be needed to deal with the resulting infection. Sometimes these are given in addition to oral antibiotics, or benzoyl peroxide may be added to increase effectiveness. Antibiotics become less effective over time, so be sure to know the name of the antibiotic in case you need a different one for another infection.

Acne cream that is non-oily is always recommended, since excess oil contributes to acne. A non allergenic formula should be used if you have sensitive skin - test a patch of your forearm first to see if you have an adverse reaction. Don't buy acne creams with strong chemicals that claim to be able to 'peel' your face; these can seriously burn you!

If acne cream treatment is to have any chance of succeeding, you have to be consistent. Follow directions, which will probably tell you to use it two to three times daily, and make sure you pack it for business trips and vacations. Try not to wear makeup while undergoing treatment for acne - it can work against you and make treatment less effective.

The best treatment for acne depends on your particular condition. Prescription acne creams are good for knocking out infections and natural remedies are great for preventing them, Finding a cure that doesn't have worse side effects than the original condition is the goal!

Whether prescription acne creams are prescribed to fight an outbreak with antibiotics, or you choose an herbal acne cream treatment, you will need to remember to moisturize. Each acne cream has its own particular characteristics, but they all tend to dry out skin - so make sure you follow through. It would be a shame to work so hard to get rid of acne only to end up with dry, unattractive skin!

Teenage acne problems really can be solved. There are enough things in life for teenagers to cope with at this critical time of the life. When Nature decides to load up the hormones and break out through the face, confidence gets a good shove.

Hormones are the main culprit for this eruption but the more medically correct term for acne would be an inflammation of the pilosebaseous follicles. Everyday language would define it as zits and pimples dotted about especially on the face. It does not last though. A couple of years mostly but for teenagers this may seem like an eternity.

Someone experiencing symptoms like these mostly regard it in later years as the worst time of their life. Constant remarks, often cruel, make for difficulties with a social life and it is not uncommon to experience isolation, low self esteem and depression. Even thoughts of suicide. There is a cure for this problem though - aloe vera.

The plant was found many thousands of years ago and valued for its beneficial effects for humanity but these days clinical research has converted its potential into a convenient little pill. Cleopatra was believed to have used aloe vera for its beneficial effects and the physicians of the time gave thanks to the Gods for it. We tend to analyze and measure these things today.

There are lots of good effects. To make a list would make it seem like a cure-all but to mention a few: the digestive system performs better and people with irritable bowel syndrome get rapid relief. The immune system is strengthened by a stream of nutrients that go to work throughout the body.

Its effects are soon apparent with a feeling of well-being and renewed energy. Healing nutrients work their way through the deep tissue of the body until they reach the teenage acne problem making it gradually disappear. (Eczema is another candidate helped by aloe vera.) You will also notice that your nails and hair look a lot better too. No doubt you have already tried a few over the counter cures for your teenage acne problem and some of them may have had aloe vera in them.

If they were ineffective it is because aloe vera is degraded considerably by exposure to air (oxidization). The other ingredients in creams and lotions can also reduce its power. So the best way is to swallow it. This must be the Aloe Vera Barbadensis Miller variety. It is classified as food and quite safe so just cut off a 2 inch tip from your plant, wash it and then eat it.

Some people spit it out with a yuk and some people think it is quite nice. We are all different. Of all the ways to ingest it this is the best way. If you find that your bowels have loosened this may be because of the laxative side effects so stop. Search for the pills - they have this problem removed. Before you know it your teenage acne problems will disappear and your skin will be as soft and clear as it should be. Read more...

Some Acne Realities For You

Được đăng bởi Nguyen | 10:45 AM

The fact that the cause of acne is that our skin pores become blocked by body oils and dead skin is well know. It is some of the other things that we have learned that are less than true.

To begin with that means that eating greasy foods like pizza, bacon, French fries or potatoes chips will not affect your acne either way. Neither will eating chocolate or drinking any kind of carbonated soda pop. Wearing make-up is also not likely going to affect your skin, especially if the make-up is the oil-free.

Ask your parents about their skin as a teenager. If they had problems, you will probably have the same. But, it should go away by the time you reach your twenties. Here are a couple of suggestions to help with your acne problem. Don't use a facecloth as it may be too rough on your skin. Your hands are much more friendly to your face. Wash with warm water and a mild soap in the morning and before going to bed at night.

Anything that you put on your face, including your makeup, sunscreen, or moisturizer should be oil free. Make sure you always remove all of your makeup before going to bed. When you exert yourself in any way and you are sweating because of it, make sure your wash your face. Keep your hair off you face. Your hair has its own oils and you don't want them rubbing onto your face. Make sure you wash your hair regularly to avoid the oils aggravating your skin.

If you must use products like sprays or gel to keep your hair in place, make sure that you keep it off of your face. These items can contribute to your acne by blocking up your pores. And if you have to wear hats or caps, be careful that they do not promote acne along the hairline.

Quite often we forget to keep out hands off of our face. If you touch your face a lot, you may be putting the dirt and oil from your hands to your skin. You also do not need to be picking, touching, squeezing or popping your pimples. This kind of attention can make them worse.

If you look around, you can find a number of medications for your acne at the local drug store. As there are many of these products, you may need to try a few. This is because you may find what works for your friend may not work for you. If you look for products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, these are usually the best and will help dry out and shrink your pimples. It is very important to follow the instructions to the letter. And do not misuse these items because that could cause damage to your skin.

If you don't find something that works over-the-counter, arrange to visit your dermatologist who will be able to prescribe something stronger. Read more...

Acne Myths To Ignore

Được đăng bởi Nguyen | 10:17 AM

There are several common beliefs about the causes and course of acne where scientific studies just don't agree with the real world. Fortunately, you don't have to understand all the myths in depth to separate the real truth. For example, it has not been proven that eating chocolate or greasy cheeseburgers will cause you to develop acne.

Most of the time, people are inclined to eat right and carryout healthy habits with their face as well. The habits that are learned translate over to their skin as well. Surprisingly, cleanliness still doesn't have a large contribution to acne development.

Actually, your chances are greatest when your pores get congested and bacteria forms inside them. These results in the familiar skin disease called acne. Then, white blood cells charge to the area to combat the bacteria. Meanwhile, our hair continues to grow through the surface while oil or sebum oozes down the side, and is strewn in the area. And, the skin cells grow and die and are rubbed off while bathing.

As a result, the pores close trapping the bacteria inside, along with trapped dead skin cells that contribute to the problem. Then the area can becomes inflamed and develops pus, which is one type of acne.

But acne is strongly influenced by excess sebum production (a natural skin oil), triggered primarily by hormones. Good hygiene is a good idea for many reasons. But it helps more in treating acne that has already occurred by providing a good surface for medications to do their work most effectively.

It has been said that surely stress would play a role in the onset of acne. But it has not been proven by major studies. Stress may have a small effect on acne that has already formed, but it ranks low on the list as a possible cause. But, keep posted because I think this thinking may change in the future. The reason is that stress is an all out massive attack on your body. This is my opinion.

However, people who have had other health conditions have usually experienced stress. You can't avoid it because it's just part of life. Fortunately, the extent things effect you are mostly in your control. We would probably be bored without some stress in our life. That won't ever be a problem.

One final point to mention, don't ever think that more acne medication will work better. It's harmful to alter the prescribed amount that the doctor recommended, and it's wasting medication. Follow, the dosage information on your prescription. Make a follow up visit to your doctor, if you don't improve in two weeks. Read more...
