The idea of a weight loss diet for fat people is one of the biggest hoaxes marketers have ever pulled off. Millions of innocent people and billions of dollars are sucked in every single year.
Are You Shocked?
Is this one of the silliest things you've heard in a while? Why would someone say something so outrageous?
You are probably at least a little skeptical. Everyone knows weight loss and dieting is a billion-dollar-a-year industry.
Well my friend, if you are overweight, are you a fat person, or a fat people? I'm banking that you chose "fat person." Clearly, you were absolutely right in doing so. And as easy as that, you and I just uncovered the key to debunking one of the greatest hoaxes in the history of marketing. It's still effectively cleaning out purses and wallets all over America and Canada.
The whole key is this: "Fat people" is a group. Groups do not (cannot) go on diets. It is individual people who go on diets!
Is It "Who's" Fat or "What's" Fat?
Groups are formed by noticing similarities. The secret to making really big groups is to notice as FEW similarities as possible.
So when a diet is advertised as "The Diet for Overweight People" and the intention is to speak to all the overweight people on the continent-guess what? You've got it! To make a group this big, they must look at a very few things. In fact, they look at only one thing that all these people have in common. They're fat.
On the surface, this seems reasonable. But let's look a little deeper. Say five overweight people purchase "The Perfect Diet for Overweight People." Since all overweight people are "fat people", then they must all have the same problem, right? And if that's the case, this diet should be perfect for all of these people, right?
NOPE!
Let's take a closer look?
* George is overweight because of hormonal imbalances
* Sheila is overweight because she eats a lot of meat and dairy products from producers that make use of growth hormones to fatten up the livestock. Sheila is unaware that this is also fattening her up!
* Peter has hit the over 40 group. Two years ago, he was promoted to an executive position (sitting at a desk with no exercise) from a very active field position (lots of exercise). The result is that Peter's weight issues are tied to a slowing metabolism.
* Margaret began yoyo dieting after her second pregnancy. Now her body has become very efficient at holding on to all the fat that finds its way into her stomach. Her body has also become quite accomplished at manufacturing and storing fat from the food Margaret eats. To make matters worse, her body has gained a military precision in its ability to move while minimizing the amount of calories it burns. Margaret's body has transformed into a fat production and storage machine.
* In Barbara's eyes, the mirror reflects the image of a fat person. Dear Barbara has struggled for years to control her weight. Her failure to lose weight keeps her in a constant state of depression. Obvious to all who see this poor soul, but unbeknownst to Barbara herself, she is at least 20 pounds underweight! Dieting has failed Barbara because it is only the image in her mind's eye that is fat.
I Rest My Case:
"Fat people" describes a group of people who have "fatness" in common. But when it comes time to take action, it is individuals who must control their weight problems. And each of these individuals has their own unique causes at the root of their weight situation. This means there can never be a "perfect diet for fat people."
By being cautious and doing your homework, it is possible however to find the perfect diet for you.
